Made in USA
We got the thumbs up from Adventure Sports Journal!!
We have found that properly constructed split microfiber with the correct GSM (grams per square meter) rating has the best sweat absorbing and retaining properties compared to many other fabrics currently available. Additionally it is durable and has a nice feel against your forehead.
Why one size?
After testing many helmets and sizes we have found that the 10in Sweat Buster fits the majority of helmets from Small to X-Large, and has adequate material for a several hour long ride. The amount a person perspires is also not directly correlated to the size of their head.
Seems a bit bulky, how thick is the Sweat Buster?
The Sweat Buster compress's down quite a bit once you put your helmet on. The upper portion of the Sweat Buster is ~6mm and the lower portion with velcro is ~4mm (compressed).
Can I install with velcro on top?
You can if comfortable, however the Sweat Buster was designed to have the velcro on the bottom as the material is slightly thinner on the bottom half. The upper half has more material to fill in the contour between your head and helmet as well as wick sweat upward.
Do I need to wash the Sweat Buster after every ride?
No, but you should at least rinse, wring and let dry.
Why cant I use fabric softener?
The oils in the softener and self-softening detergents will clog up the fibers and make them less effective until the oils are washed out.
Any other uses?
Some of our test riders have stopped mid ride for a break and wiped themselves down with the Sweat Buster. A slight rinse and wring and back into helmet and off they went, drip free.
Some of my helmet venting is partially covered
Since the Sweat Buster is larger than most any helmet pad on some helmets the lower vents are covered or partially covered. Overall we have found this not to be an issue as your head usually covers those vents anyhow. You can also position the Sweat Buster lower on the helmet rim to open the vents up again.
